In the workplace, many times teamwork is the norm and you are expected to work in teams. You and your team members, therefore, have to depend on one other to get the job done.
Take, for example, a football team. They have to depend on each other to get the ball from defence to attack and to score in the opponent’s net.
Being overly dependent on others though involves expecting others to do your workload for you and blaming them for not doing what you were expected to do right.
Imagine a goalkeeper who relies on his teammates to make saves on his behalf when he is called upon to prevent the opponent from scoring.
It means he’s being overly dependent on others to get his job done.
Here are signs that demonstrate the overly dependent in you in the workplace.
1. When you point fingers or blame others
2. When you don’t put in your own quota
3. You don’t take responsibility for your actions
4. When you rely on others to provide the answers
When you are able to work in a team with others without being overly dependent on them, you find it easier to achieve your career goals. And your progression in the place of work will be natural and seamless.
