4 Don’ts when it comes to achieving Promotion in the workplace.
There are some certain actions you should not take when it comes to achieving promotion in the workplace.
1. Do not point fingers.
When something goes wrong, don’t be quick in pointing fingers to your coworkers and colleagues. Rather, work out a means where solution(s) can be found without blaming anyone.
2. Don’t be negative
You don’t want to be known as the negative person or the critic at work. Being negative would make people avoid you. Do your homework (using KTA), calculate the odds and present your results with confidence and optimism.
3. You can’t be static
When aiming for promotion, you don’t want to be static or unchanging. You want to prove that you can do something no one has done before. Show it. Demonstrate it. Be confident in your capacities and abilities. When the need arises, you would be the one picked.
4. You can’t be quiet
When you are aiming for promotion, one thing you don’t do is being quiet. Don’t be silent about your achievements. Don’t be scared to share your ideas and opinions. Don’t be intimidated by what they could say. Put yourself out there.
Always remember that the worst thing that can happen is that they say No. Don’t be scared to put yourself out there.
